Bartender of the Month

Jason Sproles, a native of Baton Rouge, is the Bartender of the Month. Jason can be found at the Steam Room Grille on I-55 frontage road in North East Jackson. If you are in the mood for a quick cocktail and the best service in town, you will not want to miss happy hour at the Steam Room Grille. Happy hour is from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and features $1.75 well drinks, $1 draught beer, $1.50 domestic longnecks, $1.50 house wine by the glass and .25 cent smoked or steamed oysters. The bar at the Steam Room Grille can best be described as causal and intimate. It features televisions on which you are likely to catch the best sporting events before that important business dinner. You will also be able to keep up to date on the latest news on CNBC, and don't be surprised if you see The Iron Chef, one of the favorite cooking shows popular amoung the faithful patrons of this relaxing pub.

Jason says that the comfortable booths, lined with antique books, are perfect for private or intimate conversations. The bar may be so friendly that you choose to dine in one of the private booths. Whatever you do, be sure to take advantage of some of the most unique appetizers in town. The dinner specialty is fresh Maine lobster and Certified Black Angus beef. The lobsters are flown in fresh daily and may be selected from the largest live lobster tanks in the state. You can choose from 1.25 lb. to 15 lb. lobsters for that special occasion. If beef is what you like, be sure to ask about the delicious, hand-trimmed, Smoked Filet topped with Crawfish tails and Shrimp in a cabernet reduction sauce.

When Jason was informed that he had be selected as Bartender of the Month he replied, "I would rather have been selected Bachelor of the Month." He went on the say, "The Steam Room is the key to my success. I try to provide the friendliest, fastest service in town. The bar is really laid back and the customers love our great selections of wine and beer. They also like the fact that they can enjoy a premium cigar from our humidor." While bartending is Jason's passion he is also a master chef. Be sure to ask for Jason when you visit the bar at the Steam Room Grille, a veteran in the food and beverage industry.
